About Caroline R. Hahn

Caroline R. Hahn was born in Los Angeles, from immigrant parents. She grew up in Huntington Beach, California and attended high school in Orange County. Ms. Hahn received her undergraduate degree in History, from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She received her J.D. from Chapman University School of Law. She clerked for the Honorable Robert M. Takasugi in the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. As a child of immigrant parents, she wanted to help others who could not speak English. As a result, she applied for the Orange County Public Defender’s Office. She served as a Deputy Public Defender in Orange County. From 2018-2020, she worked at the Federal Public Defender’s Office. She enjoyed helping her clients, many of whom were indigent, struggling with mental illness and drug addiction, and suffering from the effects of poverty.

Ms. Hahn started her own practice because she wanted to have the flexibility to represent more diverse groups of clients. She continues to have a passion for protecting the rights of the accused. She represents individuals in all types of criminal defense matters and overlapping issues. Ms. Hahn employs a holistic approach to her advocacy by getting to the root of the problem. Most of her clients find themselves in their predicament because of persistent mental health issues, painful life circumstances or sudden life changes, trauma from childhood, drug and alcohol addiction, and physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. Ms. Hahn conducts an overall assessment of the case and the client.

Ms. Hahn is especially passionate about the juvenile delinquency work she does. She regularly represents juveniles in Juvenile Court. She loves juvenile work because she believes minors who get in trouble with the law at a young age have the ability to change course. She has seen many of her clients turn their lives around as they grow into young adults. Ms. Hahn is committed to helping juveniles get that second chance. She has intimate knowledge of the juvenile justice system. Ms. Hahn has served as a guest lecturer at UCI School of Law, speaking on juvenile justice and practicing in juvenile court. Ms. Hahn has also spoken on different panels regarding juvenile law, including most recently, for the Hanmi Counseling Center.

Ms. Hahn serves as a board member for the Child Guidance Center, a non-profit organization specializing in assisting children and families with mental health in Orange County. Ms. Hahn also takes serious felony cases from the Indigent Defense Panel in Kern County. When Ms. Hahn is not fighting for her clients, she is enjoying time with her husband and three children, cheering them on in their respective sports games.
